Benjamin
FOUNDING PRINCIPAL
At times described by peers as a modern Renaissance Man, Benjamin brings a multidisciplinary background spanning investing, engineering, real estate development, operations, and the creative arts. He is founding principal and investment manager at Bridgewater Group and has served as a business general manager, construction project manager, and energy systems engineer.
Benjamin has modernized and exited multiple operating businesses, fundraised and project-managed ground-up real estate developments, and led energy-efficiency policymaking in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy during his tenure at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Alongside his business work, he is a Bay Area– and Los Angeles–represented screen actor with roles in film and commercial productions.
He holds an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas, and MS and BS both in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Wisconsin–Madison, respectively. He received on-screen training at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre.
